Last weekend I was able to be a part of a wedding I've been excited about since last summer.
Josh and Heidi got married on a perfect day at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville. And this was an especially meaningful wedding because I feel like I've been with them through some of their biggest moments now. From their proposal to engagement times to their big day. When Josh was getting ready with his brother/best man it really hit me that it was finally here. I've known these guys for three+ years and now one of them is married. Where did the time go?
After getting ready, the guys and I headed to a spot we'd picked out for the "first look" moment. As we waited for Heidi and a few of her girls to arrive, we all chatted and enjoyed the view of the mountains and lake. I remember thinking how Josh must be feeling a huge mix of emotions, ranging from excitement to nervousness to happiness. But whatever he was feeling he looked so peaceful. When Heidi arrived and started walking down the dock toward her fiancé, the joy on her face was incredible. Josh's reaction upon seeing her was the sweetest, and he couldn't stop telling her how beautiful she was.
The ceremony was a lovely one. After Heidi made her way down the aisle she and Josh gathered in a circle with their parents and minister for a prayer. It was a quiet one - and I'm not sure what was said - but that made it even more beautiful. By the time Josh and Heidi said "I do" I'm fairly certain everyone had teared up at least once. There is just something special about these two!
After the ceremony a cocktail hour was held in the gardens, and soon after the reception started! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves here, but suffice to say we all had a blast from start to finish. At the end of the night Josh and Heidi headed out through a shower of lavender buds. It was perfect!
I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the day! I worked with my photographer friend Anastasia on this wedding, and you can check her blog here!
